General rehabilitation medicine

To become a Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist, you will need to apply for fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians , Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Fellowship is a 4 year (full time equivalent) Advanced Training in Rehabilitation Medicine pathway consisting of:

36 months Core Training
12 months Non-Core Training

Entry requirements/pre-requisites

Application and selection process

To be selected onto the Advanced Training in Rehabilitation Medicine Program, applicants must first secure a position with an accredited training facility. In Queensland, this is done by applying through the RMO Campaign which provides a centralised selection process or trainees can apply directly through the accredited facilities recruitment processes.

New and current trainees need to apply for Advanced Training each year with RACP. Once you have secured an Advanced Training position, you must prospectively apply for approval as per the RACP Progression through Training Policy.
