To become an Addiction Medicine Physician, you will need to apply for fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine (RACP-AChAM).

Fellowship is a minimum 6 year (full time equivalent) training pathway, consisting of two alternate entry points – completion of the 3 years (full time equivalent) RACP Basic Training OR fellowship with another eligible Specialist Medical College. This is followed by 3 years (full time equivalent) Advanced Training in Addiction Medicine consisting of:

  • 18 months Core Training
  • 18 months Non-Core Training
