Free health screenings – Beef Week Rockhampton

29 Apr 2024

The University of Queensland (UQ) Medical School Rural Clinical School is proud to offer free Health Screenings for attending Beef Australia 2024 attendees in Rockhampton. Please note this is only for attending individuals of Beef Week Rockhampton 2024 as the screenings are in-person.

You will be asked to fill out a two-page questionnaire about your health. We will also take some measurements such as your height and weight (if not already known) and we will measure your blood pressure. This information will be anonymous and used by our Health Screening team to encourage better health outcomes and to identify areas of your health that should be followed up with a formal doctor’s appointment. We may also use the data collected for statistical analysis later.

Our Health Screening teams will consist of senior and junior medical students studying The University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and future medical students studying CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Medical Science (Pathway to Medicine) program. They will be supervised on-site by UQ staff members who are licensed and practicing General Practitioners.

Please note that this health screening is not a formal medical appointment.

The session will go for around 30 minutes; 15 minutes for you to fill out the questionnaire, and 15 minutes to speak with the health screening team.
